Adam Main

Adam Main is the latest fruit on a family tree of musicians that goes back to his great-grandfather James Patrick Aloysius Doyle who led a dance orchestra in Cheboygan in the early 1900’s. Adam’s favorite musicians include Beethoven, Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Jimi Hendrix, Glenn Gould, Brad Mehldau, Charlie Hunter, Hélène Grimaud, Bill Frisell, and Bruce Cockburn. His first concert was Huey Lewis and the News (Sports tour) and his first LP was Joan Jett and the Black Hearts’ “I Love Rock and Roll.” A founding member of Kalamazoo bands The Bremens and Pound & Beers, Main also played bass for several productions at the Kalamazoo Civic Theater. Equally adept at star gazing and shoe gazing, Main appreciates both the Beatles and the Stones. Adam is currently teaching at Guitar Center and the Kalamazoo Academy of Rock. He also has original solo albums available on iTunes, “Yart Sale”, “Solo Acoustic Guitar” and upcoming “Burton Slow Down”
